Breeding & Genetics

If you’re purchasing for breeding goals, your decision should be based on more than color. Temperament, structure, and long-term manageability matter

Are all animals sold as breeding stock?
Not always. Some animals are ideal for breeding plans; others are better suited as companions or homestead animals. We’ll be clear about what we recommend based on your goals.

Do you offer registered breeding animals?
When available, we offer registered breeding stock in our Kunekune program. If registration applies to a specific animal, we’ll discuss documentation during the inquiry process.

How do I choose a male vs female?
Tell us your plan (breeding, pasture companion, future herd size, family use). We’ll help you think through handling needs, housing, and management realities—especially for intact males.

Can you help me select a pair or small starter group?
Yes. We can recommend combinations that make sense for temperament and day-to-day management.

Does color matter?
Color is a preference; temperament and soundness are the foundation. If you have a specific look in mind, we’ll help you narrow options without losing sight of the practical side.

What should I consider before breeding on small acreage?
Space, fencing, handling facilities, time, and local vet access. If you tell us your acreage and goals, we’ll give a realistic recommendation.
